Pelican-Unify 1.0

ModelActive

Pelican-Unify 1.0 is an embodied-intelligence unified foundation model ("unified model") developed by Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, part of the center's Pelican model line. Beijing municipal government reporting described it as an industry-first embodied unified model that gives humanoid robots a general-purpose "brain". Instead of connecting separately optimized VLM, VLA, and world-model components - an approach the center says can fragment how a robot sees, thinks, and acts - Pelican-Unify 1.0 packs perception, language understanding, reasoning, anticipation, and action control into a single neural network, achieving unified understanding, reasoning, and generation. The model is designed to "imagine first, then act": before executing a motion it generates the expected future visual state, then compares actual feedback against that prediction so the robot can detect and correct its own mistakes. According to Beijing Daily via the Beijing Municipal Government portal (2026-05-19), Pelican-Unify 1.0 ranked first in the World Arena global embodied-AI evaluation, which was co-initiated by Tsinghua University, Princeton University, the National University of Singapore, Peking University, and the University of Hong Kong, among eight institutions. The center reports piloting the model on its Tiangong humanoid robots and robot arms, where it sequences multi-step operations from instructions such as "insert the connector" or "apply waterproofing". At the 2026 World Robot Conference (August 2026), official Beijing coverage presented Pelican-Unify among the center's flagship releases alongside the Tiangong Omni robot.
