Apptronik

Apptronik, founded in 2016 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, is a humanoid robotics company that spun out of the Human Centered Robotics Lab at the University of Texas at Austin. The company's flagship robot, Apollo, is a full-size bipedal humanoid designed for industrial logistics, material handling, and manufacturing tasks. Apptronik has raised $1.45B+ in total funding at a $5.5B+ valuation. In February 2026, the company raised a $520M Series A round backed by Google and Mercedes-Benz. The company operates on a Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model, with Mercedes-Benz as a deployment partner for automotive manufacturing. Apollo features 34 degrees of freedom, a 25 kg payload capacity, and approximately 4 hours of battery life. The robot uses a modular design with swappable battery packs and configurable end effectors. Apptronik has over 400 employees and is backed by NASA partnerships for human-robot interaction research.
