BabyAlpha A3
RobotannouncedBabyAlpha A3 is a consumer-grade quadruped robot launched by Weilan Tech in May 2026, representing the third generation of the BabyAlpha product line. It is the world's first consumer quadruped to run a 7-billion parameter large language model on-device at 280 tokens/sec using a self-developed heterogeneous computing cluster. The A3 uses a WEILAN Hybrid X1.0 Edge-side Mixed Heterogeneous Computing Cluster composed of 6 chips (2× 5nm, 2× 8nm, 2× 3D-stacked, totaling 22 CPU cores) that work collaboratively for perception, decision-making, and motion control. This cluster costs approximately $300 — one-tenth the price of an NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000 — while achieving over 10× the computing efficiency of industry-standard single-chip solutions. Perception system: 66-megapixel super visual system (50MP main camera + f/2.8 ultra-wide + 4K panoramic) with HDR 140dB exceeding human eye dynamic range; 5 groups of 3D ToF + 3D structured light for 360° spatial sensing at 2.232M points/sec (46× industry standard); world's first 12-Mic 3D Mesh bionic stereo hearing array with ±3° sound localization accuracy. Performance: runs at 3.5 m/s, climbs 45° slopes, surmounts 28cm obstacles. Safety features include hidden joints, pinch-proof design, millisecond-level emergency braking, and end-cloud dual security architecture (Level 3+ certified, Alibaba Cloud + Azure DDoS).
